Israel

Earlier this year, my family and I were able to make a trip to Israel. Although I’ve spent my childhood and most of my adulthood there, it’s been quite some time since I’ve been back. During our time in Tel Aviv, we visited the outdoor markets, and I still think about one in particular to this day. What made it stand out?

The people

The merchants at the farmer’s market were welcoming and friendly, making sure that we got the ingredients we needed to make our dinner that night.

The food

Specifically, the quality. Farmers sell food that they grew directly to consumers. By cutting out the grocery store middleman, we’re able to have the freshest produce available.

The atmosphere

We loved walking around and finding something new – from different jams to seasonal vegetables. We were even able to sample certain products.
